Rosaiah files defamation case against EVKS
Chennai: Tamilnadu Governor K Rosaiah filed a defamation case against TNCC president EVKS Elangovan at Madras High Court today for his alleged remarks on appointment of Vice Chancellors to various varsities.
According to the petition filed on his behalf by public prosecutor M L Jagan, "In a television programme last month, Elangovan had alleged that the Governor had taken bribe and shared it with Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa for the appointment of Vice Chancellors."
"His claims are utterly false. He had deliberately made the allegation to defame Governor and the Chief Minister." "A Governor is apolitical and Elangovan's allegations are due to political vendetta. Action should be taken for his defamatory speech."
