Two injured in 2 separate mishaps in Chennai
Chennai: Two road mishaps that left two men injured, were reported in the city since yesterday. In the first incident, an MTC bus suffered a brake failure and rammed into three autorickshaws and a car in Velacheri last night. It also damaged a compound wall nearby.
According to the police, Sathish (36) from Villupuram was driving an MTC bus route No. 570 (Thiruporur to Koyambedu), on the Dhandeeswaram Road, near the police station, when he steered to a side to make way for a vehicle from the opposite side to pass.
However, owing to a brake failure, Sathish lost control of the bus, ramming it into three autos and car. It also crashed into a TNEB compound wall. Auto driver Ramanujam from Pallikaranai who fractured his limbs in the mishap, was admitted to a hospital.
In another incident at Nandambakkam near MIOT Hospital this morning, a car rammed into a traffic signal post. A biker who was coming from the opposite direction suffered injuries in the process. The Guindy traffic investigation team has registered cases in both incidents.
