Sensex opens marginally in the green
The Sensex and Nifty opened the session near flat despite positive global cues. At 9.15 a.m., the 30-share BSE index Sensex was up 21.05 points at 25,844.80 against the previous close of 25,823.75 and the 50-share NSE index Nifty was up 8 points at 7,722.80 over the previous close of 7,714.80.
The Sensex touched a high of 25,883.66 and low of 25,844.60 in the morning trade. Asian stocks rose, with the regional index posting its longest run of weekly gains since 2012 and as U.S. jobs growth strengthened the outlook for the world’s largest economy.
Nikkei 225 rose 91 points or 0.6 per cent to 15,440 and Hang Seng was up 4.24 points or 0.02 per cent at 23,535.68.
