Ruling AIADMK MLA A.K. Bose Dead

CHENNAI: Ruling AIADMK MLA A.K. Bose, representing Thiruparankundram Assembly Constituency, died in Madurai on Thursday. He was 69. The constituency will now witness a second by-election in two years as his predecessor had died within days of being elected in May 2016.
Mr. Bose, a three-time MLA, had been unwell for the last few years and was admitted to a private hospital on Wednesday evening. He died at around 1 a.m. on Thursday, said Madurai North Assembly constituency MLA and party's Madurai district secretary V.V. Rajan Chellappa.
Mr. Bose is survived by his wife Bagyalakshmi, two sons and two daughters.
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam, State ministers and party leaders will visit Madurai to pay homage to Mr. Bose, said Mr. Chellappa.
