Ranjini’s Otta Oruthiyum Sheriyalla banned!
Anchor turned actress Ranjini Haridas' upcoming film, Otta Oruthiyum Sheriyalla, according to reports trickling in has been banned by the courts. If sources are to be believed, the Alappuzha District Court has banned her movie, Otta Oruthiyum Sheriyalla, following a case filed by a woman accusing the film of degrading the fairer sex with its title. The movie was scheduled for release this month on Valentine's Day. When contacted, the film's director Syam Praveen said, "I heard about the court order, but I have not been officially contacted by anyone regarding the issue.
Even before, many people, including women's associations, had contacted me asking to change the title. I refused, as these speculations are based on the film's name alone, which is just a common and harmless usage by village lads when their love life fails or if they are upset with women."
