Tamil Nadu Soaps & Detergent makers urged to adopt technology for growth and take advantage of Government Schemes
The two day national convention organized by Tamil Nadu Small Scale Soaps & Detergents Manufacturer’s Association (TANSDMA) was inaugurated by Shri. Hans Raj Verma, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary to Govt. of Tamil Nadu at the Chennai Trade Centre today. Around 800 members from all over India are participating in this convention.
The 55 year old body as around 600 Soaps & Detergent makers and allied products as members. The total turnover exceeds Rs.1500 Crores a year clocking a growth of 7% per annum.
In is inaugural address Mr. Verma said that the government was very keen to ensure that the MSME sector is healthy and is progressing well. It is the matter of pride that 60% of India’s MSME’s are based in Tamil Nadu and therefore the Government was eager to help in furthering their success.
He added the 3 Special Schemes have been developed, which are focused on MSME’s and the members should take advantage of these schemes. This would help to empower women and youth while bringing about rural development which in turn would revive the rural economy and create jobs for the youth.
He complimented the organizers on the theme of the conference “Explore the Unexplored” and said that Tamil Nadu government was ready to forge partnerships with the members of TANSDMA.
Mr. K. Dhanapal, President TANSDMA mentioned that GST was a booster for the productivity and growth in Tamil Nadu. The members are keen to adopt , adapt and improve for becoming a strong and healthy organization. Companies are willing to technology now. More than 90% of our members are in the Micro and Small Scale level who want to expand the production. This will lead to better opportunity and growth.
