SRMIST Table Tennis Team Clinches Triple Gold at Shine Table Tennis Open National Tournament 2026
The Table Tennis team of SRM Institute of Science and Technology , Kattankulathur, delivered a spectacular performance at the Shine Table Tennis Open National Tournament 2026, held at Udupi, Karnataka, on 2nd and 3rd October 2026.
SRMIST emerged Men’s Team Event Champions, defeating Team Hyderabad 3–0 in the semi-final and Kerala 3–0 in the final to secure the gold medal.
In the Men’s Doubles, Srisai J R and Amir Afthab S clinched the championship title, while Umesh Kumar and D. Srivathsav secured the runners-up position, giving SRMIST a memorable 1–2 finish.
Adding another gold to the tally, Umesh Kumar emerged as the Men’s Singles Champion, defeating Bharath of Kerala 3–2 in a closely contested final.
The SRMIST players collectively received a total cash prize of Rs.49,000 for their outstanding achievements.
This remarkable performance resulted in three championship titles for SRMIST, highlighting the exceptional talent, dedication and competitive spirit of its paddlers.
