Piyush Goyal dismisses reports of India-US trade talks reaching deadlock

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has rejected reports suggesting that negotiations on the proposed India-US Bilateral Trade Agreement have stalled.

Responding on social media, Goyal described such reports as inaccurate and maintained that discussions between the two countries remain active and are in their final phase.

He said his recent meetings with US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer were productive and reaffirmed both nations’ commitment to achieving a balanced agreement that benefits businesses, workers, farmers and consumers.

Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agarwal also stated that negotiations continue without major obstacles. According to him, officials from both countries have held multiple rounds of discussions in recent months and are working within an established framework.

Government officials acknowledged that global trade has experienced uncertainty due to US tariff measures but maintained that talks with Washington are progressing positively.
