Milky Mist Commissions New Skyr and Greek Yoghurt Facility
Milky Mist Dairy Food Limited (“Milky Mist” or “the Company”) (NSE: MILKYMIST | BSE: 544868), India’s fastest-growing packaged food company, today announced the commissioning of new state-of-the art Skyr and Greek Yoghurt manufacturing plant using Ultrafiltration Technology at its integrated manufacturing facility in Perundurai, Tamil Nadu. Milky Mist was the first company in India back in 2022 to introduce Ultrafiltration technology for manufacturing Skyr and Greek Yoghurt, responding early to consumers’ growing preference for high-protein nutrition.
Built with an investment of approximately ₹40 crore, the new exclusive plant has a processing capacity of up to 150 tonnes per day. The expansion with latest technology significantly strengthens Milky Mist’s ability to scale its high-protein portfolio and respond to the growing consumer preference for convenient, protein-rich food products.
The Company installed its customised multi-product yoghurt manufacturing facility in 2022 with a capacity of about 20 tonnes per day. Since then, annual demand for the category has grown by more than 50%, leading the Company to rapidly outgrow its initial capacity. The Company has also witnessed demand for high-protein yoghurts more than double in recent months, reflecting the increasing relevance of protein-led nutrition in everyday consumption.
The new facility was developed following an extensive evaluation of global manufacturing technologies. Its advanced Ultrafiltration capabilities will support higher production volumes, consistent product quality and the development of differentiated high-protein dairy offerings for a wider consumer base.
The facility forms part of Milky Mist’s broader expansion and modernisation programme at Perundurai - one of the stated objects of the Company’s initial public offering. Its commissioning represents the translation of the Company’s capital investment programme into operational capacity across the high-growth value-added dairy category.
The expansion is expected to increase the availability of Milky Mist’s Skyr and Greek Yoghurt portfolio, support future revenue growth and strengthen the Company’s position in India’s rapidly developing high-protein dairy segment.

Dr. K Rathnam, Wholetime Director and Chief Executive Officer, Milky Mist Dairy Food Limited, said:
“High-protein nutrition is moving from a niche preference to an increasingly mainstream consumption trend. The strong growth in demand for Skyr and Greek Yoghurt validates our early investment in this category and reinforces its long-term potential within India’s value-added FMCG market.
The commissioning of our advanced manufacturing facility represents a strategic expansion of our technological capabilities. With processing capacity of up to 150 tonnes per day, it provides us with the scale to serve rising demand, accelerate innovation and expand the category. This investment strengthens Milky Mist’s position in the high-protein segment and creates a robust platform for sustained profitable growth.”
