On 28th September, we proudly celebrate Founders’ Day in remembrance of Mr. B. G. Raghupathy (BGR) — a visionary leader, a first-generation entrepreneur, and an inspiration to generations. Born in 1953, his journey from humble beginnings to becoming a global industry leader is a story of resilience, foresight, and determination. He began his career as a marketing executive and, through perseverance and courage, built an enterprise that came to define Indian entrepreneurship at its highest standards. Over the years, he forged partnerships with leading global companies, brought advanced technologies to India, and successfully transformed those ventures into fully Indian-owned enterprises — a testament to his vision and leadership. He pioneered landmark projects that redefined the execution of power projects in India and strengthened international collaborations that elevated Indian engineering to the global stage.

Yet, beyond these professional milestones, what truly distinguished him was his philosophy of leadership — blending ambition with humility, vision with ethics, and innovation with timeless wisdom drawn from the Thirukkural (Sacred Couplets). He believed success was never measured by profit alone but by values, fairness, and responsibility to society.

As I write this on Founders’ Day, I celebrate not only my father’s extraordinary journey but also the enduring values he instilled — integrity, resilience, and care for people. His story continues to inspire entrepreneurs, professionals, and dreamers to pursue excellence while remaining grounded in principles.
