Amit Shah Launches Emergency, Forensic Services in Chhattisgarh
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday (May 18, 2026) launched several new safety and crime response initiatives in Chhattisgarh aimed at improving emergency services and fast-track investigations
He flagged off 400 new vehicles for the “CG Dial 112” emergency response system. These vehicles will operate across the state to provide quick help during emergencies such as accidents, crimes, medical situations, and other urgent incidents. The goal of this service is to ensure faster police response and better coordination during critical situations.
Along with this, Amit Shah also inaugurated 33 mobile forensic science laboratories. Each district in Chhattisgarh will now have one fully equipped forensic van. These mobile units are designed to reach crime scenes quickly and collect important evidence on the spot.
The forensic vans are equipped with modern tools and kits to collect blood samples, fingerprints, digital data, CCTV footage, and other electronic evidence. This will help police investigate cases more efficiently without delay.
Officials said that these mobile laboratories will strengthen the criminal justice system by speeding up evidence collection and improving the quality of investigations. They are expected to be especially useful in serious cases where quick scientific analysis is importan
