Get chills and shudders with the World Television Premiere of ‘Boo’ on Colors Tamil
Chennai, July 27: Colors Tamil, Viacom18’s Tamil Entertainment Channel, is all set to premiere the popular horror film 'Boo' on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at 2 pm, with Pothys as Special Partner. The 'Movie of the Month' is produced by Jio Studios, Sarvanth Ram Creations and Shri Shridi Sai movies, and is written and directed by Vijay. The film's star cast includes Rakul Preet Singh, Vishwak Sen, Nivetha Pethuraj, Megha Akash, Manjima Mohan, Vidya Raman and Prudhvi Raj. It features music by GV Prakash Kumar and Madhusudhanan Ragothaman, cinematography by Sandeep K Vijay and editing by Anthony.
Commenting on the WTP, Director Vijay said, "This film was ideated and shot during the second wave lockdown. All that has come up on the screen is a result of a lot of hard work of all the people involved, especially the actors. We as a team are excited and are looking forward to its TV premiere on Colors Tamil to reach a wider audience."
Actress Manjima Mohan said, "It’s nice to be part of a multicast starrer. I love the fact that women came together to create something so wonderful. I did a little stunt in the movie even though I was recovering from an injury, thanks to Silva master. Director Vijay was very understanding and I have learnt a lot from him while working on this film. I am sure viewers are going to love watching the film on their television screens as it is an amazing horror movie, perfect for your weekend."
The story of ‘Boo’ revolves around four women in their twenties who decide to celebrate a Halloween night by reading an ominously spooky book. As they begin reading, the lines between fiction and reality start blurring and the girls are unwillingly drawn into each of the stories.
Kaira (Rakul Preet Singh) is a jovial and fun-loving girl. She resides in an apartment alone. She has been wanting to celebrate Halloween for years and finally she puts her plan into motion. She invites three of her friends, Rithu (Aayira), Aruna and Kavya (Vidyullekha Raman) for the night. As luck would have it, a little while into the Halloween Party, power goes out in the apartments. To kill time, Kiara pulls out a spooky novel but warns them that the author of the book passed away after writing it. As they progress from one chapter to another, eerie sounds start emanating from their surroundings, adding to their confusion and unease. As they reach the final chapter, they are confronted with a story about a paranormal scientist named Akash (Vishwak Sen) and his girlfriend Meera (Reba Monica John).
Gradually, the friends realise that the stories they are reading are actually connected to them. What happens when they discover this? How does the rest of the plot unfold?
