NTK 2026 Manifesto Focuses on Decentralised Governance

The Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) has released its election manifesto for 2026, presenting a plan focused on decentralised governance, social welfare, and promoting Tamil identity.

The party’s manifesto suggests major changes to how the state is run. One key proposal is to create multiple functional capitals across Tamil Nadu. This is aimed at reducing pressure on Chennai and making government services more accessible to people in other regions

According to the plan, different cities would take on different roles. Administrative, legislative, industrial, and cultural functions could be distributed across cities such as Tiruchirappalli, Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, and Kanniyakumari.

This approach, according to NTK, would make governance more efficient and bring government services closer to the people. It also emphasizes improving social welfare programs and protecting Tamil culture and identity.

Overall, NTK’s manifesto focuses on spreading development across the state, reducing the dominance of Chennai, and ensuring that all regions benefit from better administration and social services
