26 Hours Continuous Non-Stop Swimming – Anti-Drug Awareness Initiative as part of the Founder’s Birthday Celebration 2026
SRM Institute of Science and Technology , Directorate of Sports, is organizing a unique 26 Hours Continuous Non-Stop Swimming – Anti-Drug Awareness Initiative as part of the Founder’s Birthday Celebration 2026. The event aims to create strong awareness among students, youth and the public about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to promote a healthy, active and drug-free society. As part of this initiative, 88 swimmers will participate in continuous non-stop swimming for 26 hours, demonstrating their commitment towards spreading the message of “Just Say No to Drugs.” The event will be held from 9.00 a.m. on 23 August 2026 to 11.00 a.m. on 24 August 2026 at the Dr. T. R. Paarivendhar Aquatic Complex, SRMIST, Kattankulathur – 603203.
Through this remarkable swimming initiative, SRMIST seeks to convey the message that sports, fitness and a healthy lifestyle can play an important role in preventing drug abuse and building a stronger future. The event carries the collective message of “One Goal – Clean Society, One Stroke – Stronger Future, One Message – Say No to Drugs, Save Life.” The initiative is expected to bring together swimmers, students, sports enthusiasts and members of the community in support of the anti-drug awareness movement.
