Dhanush-Mammotty’s OM team ropes in popular Bollywood actor

The makers of OM have confirmed that veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah has joined the film’s cast, marking his return to Tamil cinema after more than two decades

Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy and featuring Dhanush in the lead role, the film also stars Mammootty, Sai Pallavi, Sreeleela and Indrans in significant roles.

Shah last appeared in a Tamil film in Kamal Haasan’s Hey Ram (2000), where he portrayed Mahatma Gandhi. His latest project marks his comeback to the industry after a gap of 26 years. The film will also reunite Shah and Mammootty, who previously shared screen space in the Malayalam classic Ponthan Mada.

Several other reunions add to the project’s appeal. Rajkumar Periasamy teams up again with Sai Pallavi after Amaran, while Dhanush and Sai Pallavi reunite following Maari 2. Mammootty also returns to Tamil cinema after earning widespread appreciation for Peranbu.

Produced by Wunderbar Films in association with R Take Studios, the film features music by Sai Abhyankkar, cinematography by Ezhil Arasu, editing by Kalaivanan, choreography by Sandy and action choreography by Yannick Ben. Although the makers have not disclosed the storyline, the addition of Naseeruddin Shah has significantly increased anticipation surrounding the film.
