Elephantine X நிறுவனத்தின் தயாரிப்பில் உருவாகி வரும் இசையை மையமாகக் கொண்ட குடும்பக் கதையான ‘ராஜாவின் ப்ளேலிஸ்ட்’ படத்தின் படப்பிடிப்பு முழுமையாக நிறைவடைந்துள்ளது. இதையடுத்து படத்தின் பின்னணி பணிகள் முழு வீச்சில் நடைபெற்று வருகின்றன.

படத்தின் டீசர் திரையரங்குகளில் இடைவேளை நேரத்தில் ரசிகர்களுக்கு எதிர்பாராத ஆச்சரியத்தை ஏற்படுத்தும் வகையில் வெளியிடப்பட்டது. திரையரங்கில் விளக்குகள் எரிந்து, ரசிகர்கள் பாப்கார்ன், குளிர்பானங்களுடன் சென்று கொண்டிருக்க, திரையில் விளம்பரங்கள் ஓடும் அந்த வழக்கமான இடைவேளை நேரத்தில், “என்னது, இளையராஜா பாட்டு கேட்டா டைம் டிராவல் ஆகுதா?” என்ற சுவாரஸ்யமான குரல் ஒலிக்கிறது.

அதைத் தொடர்ந்து அறிமுக நடிகர் ஜெயன் மற்றும் சோனா ஒலிக்கல் இடம்பெறும் காட்சிகளுடன், பழைய சென்னையை நினைவூட்டும் விண்டேஜ் காட்சிகள் திரையில் தோன்றுகின்றன. இதன் மூலம் இசை மற்றும் நினைவுகளுடன் பயணிக்கும் ஒரு தனித்துவமான கதைக்களத்திற்கான எதிர்பார்ப்பை டீசர் உருவாக்கியுள்ளது.

‘குடும்பஸ்தன்’ படத்தின் ஒளிப்பதிவாளராக கவனம் பெற்ற சுஜித் N. சுப்ரமணியம், ‘ராஜாவின் ப்ளேலிஸ்ட்’ படத்தின் மூலம் இயக்குநராக அறிமுகமாகிறார். வெங்கட் பிரபுவின் கதையை அடிப்படையாகக் கொண்டு உருவாகும் இப்படத்திற்கு யுவன் சங்கர் ராஜா இசையமைக்கிறார். இயக்குநர் சுதா கொங்கரா கிரியேட்டிவ் தயாரிப்பாளராக பணியாற்றுகிறார்.

Elephantine X சார்பில் ரமணன் பாலகங்காதரன் தயாரிக்கும் இப்படத்தின் மூலம் மறைந்த மூத்த தயாரிப்பாளர் ஆர்.டி. பாஸ்கரின் இளைய மகனும், இசைஞானி இளையராஜாவின் சகோதரர் மகனுமான ஜெயன் நடிகராக அறிமுகமாகிறார். அவருடன் சோனா ஒலிக்கல் முன்னணி கதாபாத்திரத்தில் நடிக்கிறார்.

படப்பிடிப்பு நிறைவடைந்துள்ள நிலையில், தற்போது இசை, படத்தொகுப்பு, விஷுவல்ஸ், சவுண்ட் உள்ளிட்ட இறுதிக்கட்ட பணிகள் நடைபெற்று வருகின்றன.

படப்பிடிப்பு நிறைவு குறித்து தயாரிப்பாளர் ரமணன் பாலகங்காதரன் கூறுகையில், “ராஜாவின் ப்ளேலிஸ்ட் படத்தின் படப்பிடிப்பை நிறைவு செய்திருப்பது எங்கள் அனைவருக்கும் மிகவும் உணர்வுப்பூர்வமானதும் மகிழ்ச்சியானதுமான தருணம். இந்த அழகான கதையை திரையில் கொண்டு வர படக்குழுவில் ஒவ்வொரு உறுப்பினரும் மிகுந்த அர்ப்பணிப்புடனும் ஆர்வத்துடனும் பணியாற்றியுள்ளனர்.

ஜெயன் தனது முதல் படத்திற்காக முழு அர்ப்பணிப்புடன் நடித்துள்ளார். அவரை ரசிகர்கள் நிச்சயம் அன்புடன் வரவேற்பார்கள் என்ற நம்பிக்கை எனக்கு உள்ளது. தற்போது பின்னணி பணிகள் தொடங்கியுள்ள நிலையில், இசை, காட்சிகள் மற்றும் அனைத்து தொழில்நுட்ப அம்சங்களையும் ஒருங்கிணைத்து படத்தை முழுமையாக்குவதில் உற்சாகமாக ஈடுபட்டு இருக்கிறோம். குடும்பம், உணர்வுகள் மற்றும் இசையின் காலத்தால் அழியாத சக்தியை கொண்டாடும் ஒரு அழகான இசை பொழுதுபோக்கு படமாக இதை ரசிகர்களிடம் கொண்டு செல்ல ஆவலாக உள்ளோம்” என்றார்.

Elephantine X’s musical family drama starring debutant Jaiyan wraps shooting; post-production work begins in full swing

Just imagine the intermission at a theatre: lights on, audiences walking in and out with popcorn and beverages, advertisements flashing on screen, and a few casually scrolling through their phones. Suddenly, an intriguing voice cuts through the ambient noise: “Ennadhu, Ilaiyaraaja paattu kettaa time travel aagudha?” Within moments, attention shifts towards the screen as glimpses of debutant Jaiyan and Sona Olickal unfold against striking vintage-styled visuals of Chennai (a.k.a. Madras), bringing an instant sense of nostalgia. The visual treatment also carries the signature of Sujith N. Subramaniam, who makes his directorial debut after earning appreciation as the cinematographer of the acclaimed Kudumbasthan. And then come the names that instantly add another layer of intrigue: A Venkat Prabhu Story, Yuvan Shankar Raja Musical, Creative Producer Sudha Kongara. That was the unexpected experience of audiences who happened to catch the teaser of ‘Raja’s Playlist’ during the interval.

The makers have now officially announced that the film has successfully completed its entire shoot and entered the post-production phase. The team is currently working on the music, editing, visuals, sound and other technical aspects, taking the project towards its final stage.

Produced by Ramanan Balagangatharan under the banner of Elephantine X, Raja’s Playlist marks the acting debut of Jaiyan, the youngest son of late veteran producer R.D. Bhaskar and nephew of legendary composer Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja. The film brings together Venkat Prabhu, who has penned the story, Yuvan Shankar Raja, who composes the music, and acclaimed filmmaker Sudha Kongara, who serves as Creative Producer. The film is written and directed by Sujith N. Subramaniam, who makes his directorial debut after earning appreciation as the cinematographer of Kudumbasthan. Based on Venkat Prabhu’s story, the film brings together a promising ensemble led by Jaiyan and Sona Olickal.

The film features Jaiyan, Sona Olickal, Vagai Chandrasekhar, Guru Somasundharam, Roju, Bibian, Aarya Lakshmi, Pragadeeshwaran Poobalam, Indhumathy, Reshmi, Rajinth, Ramkumar, Meena and Thilagavathi in pivotal roles.
The technical team comprises Sai Munish as Cinematographer, Sri Watson as Editor, Shanoo Muralidharan as Art Director, Poornima Ramaswamy as Costume Designer, PC Stunts handling action choreography, Anthony B. Jayaruban as Sound Designer and Senthil Kumar as VFX Supervisor, with Uttra Meenakshi serving as Executive Producer.

With the shooting successfully wrapped and post-production now progressing in full swing, Raja’s Playlist is steadily shaping up as a musical family drama carrying a distinctive nostalgic flavour, backed by the creative collaboration of Venkat Prabhu, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Sudha Kongara, Sujith N. Subramaniam and debutant Jaiyan.
