Virtuoso Music Expands into India with a First-of-Its-Kind Artist-Centric Model

Virtuoso Music, the UK-based music firm, today announced its strategic expansion into the Indian music market, covering original music creation, rights management, artist development and music distribution.

India’s music segment grew 10% in 2025 to reach INR59 billion, according to the FICCI-EY Media and Entertainment Report 2026, and is projected to expand at a 9% annual rate to INR75 billion by 2028, making it one of the world’s fastest-growing music markets. This momentum reflects the extraordinary depth of creative talent spanning genres, languages and generations. Virtuoso is entering the market to develop infrastructure aligned with the market’s rapid growth, bringing together rights management, music creation and artist development for India’s music ecosystem.

The firm’s leadership identified India as a strategic priority, citing the strength and diversity of India’s creative talent and its position as one of the fastest-growing music markets in the world. The company sees India as an opportunity to build something of lasting value, bringing its creator-first approach to one of the most culturally significant music ecosystems globally.

Virtuoso is introducing creator-first structures designed to better align the interests of creators and partners over the long term. The company believes this approach supports stronger creative relationships, encourages long-term investment in talent and helps build a more sustainable foundation for artists, collaborators and the music they create.

We believe the future of the music ecosystem lies in ensuring that the people who create music have a genuine share in the success of their work. In India, we are focused on building long-term value for the artists and partners we work with,” a senior Virtuoso Music executive added.

The company will create and produce original music across genres and languages with Indian artists, songwriters and producers, with a particular emphasis on developing talent and building repertoire with both domestic and international reach. Virtuoso will also invest directly in the marketing and infrastructure behind each release, ensuring talent is backed commercially as well as creatively. The firm will work with artists and rightsholders to manage and grow their catalogues, establishing structured pathways to international markets through sync licensing, brand partnerships and strategic music placement, while extending the lasting value of their work beyond India.

Virtuoso’s original music for the Indian market is in active production, with a first wave of releases spanning Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu slated for early next year. Anchored in its creator-first structures, the firm will announce its first set of artist and industry partnerships in the coming months.
