SRMIST, Vadapalani Campus -Annual Sports Day Award Function Report
On 17th February, 2026, The Department of Physical Education, Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, VADAPALANI CAMPUS conducted Annual Sports day Award Function and prizes were distributed to the winners of the sports competition. More than 1000 students participated in games - volleyball, basketball, football, cricket, badminton, throwball, table tennis, chess, carrom, and yoga. The programme commenced with an invocation, followed by a warm welcome address by Ms. T. Thenmozhi, Physical Directress. In his felicitation address, Dr. R. Venkatesh Babu, Director Academics and Administration, SRM Group, highlighted the importance of sports in building discipline, teamwork, and leadership qualities and encouraged the students to excel in sports. In his inaugural address, Dr. R. Mohanakrishnan, Director Sports, SRMIST appreciated the winners and mentioned the various scholarship schemes offered by SRMIST. The Chief guest Ms. D.P. Ezhilmathi, SRMIST Alumnus, Indian Volleyball Player, ICF, Indian Railways, graced the occasion and distributed prizes to the winners. She shared her experience and motivated the students to participate in all the sports events. The overall championship, in both men and women competition was bagged by the Department of Commerce. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the management, chief guest, staff, students, and volunteers for their support and cooperation. The Annual Sports Award Function successfully celebrated talent, dedication, and the true spirit of sportsmanship, leaving the audience inspired and motivated.
எஸ்.ஆர்.எம் அறிவியல் மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்பக்கல்வி நிறுவன அறிவியல் மற்றும் மானுடவியல் புலத்தின் வடபழனி வளாக உடற்கல்வியியல் துறையின் சார்பாக ஆண்டுவிழாப் போட்டிகள் மற்றும் பரிசளிப்பு நிகழ்வு பிப்ரவரி மாதம் 17-ஆம் நாள் இனிதே நடந்தேறியது. ஆண் பெண் இருபாலருக்குமான வாலிபால், ஃபுட்பால், கிரிக்கெட், பேட்மிட்டன், த்ரோபால், டேபிள் டென்னிஸ், செஸ், கேரம், யோகா உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு விளையாட்டுப்போட்டிகள் மாணவர்களுக்காக நடத்தப் பெற்றன. ஆயிரத்துக்கும் மேற்பட்ட மாணவர்கள் திரளாகக் கலந்துகொண்ட இவ்விளையாட்டுப்போட்டிகளில் முந்நூறு மாணவர்கள் தம் விளையாட்டுத் திறத்தால் வென்று பரிசு மற்றும் பதக்கங்களைப் பெற்றனர். பரிசு பெற்ற மாணவர்களில் பெரும்பாலானோர் வணிகவியல்துறை (B.Com) சார்ந்தவர்கள் ஆதலால், அத்துறைக்கு வெற்றிக்கோப்பை வழங்கப்பட்டது.
வடபழனி வளாகக் கலையரங்கில் நிகழ்ந்த பரிசளிப்பு விழாவில் உடற்கல்வியியல் துறைத்தலைவர் தேன்மொழி வரவேற்புரையாற்றினார். எஸ்.ஆர்.எம். கல்விக் குழுமத்தின் கல்விப் புலம் & நிர்வாக இயக்குநர் முனைவர் ஆர்.வெங்கடேஷ்பாபு வாழ்த்துரை வழங்கினார். உடற்கல்வியல் இயக்குநர் பேராசிரியர் முனைவர் ஆர்.மோகனகிருஷ்ணன் விழாத் தொடக்கவுரை ஆற்றினார். இந்திய வாலிபால் வீராங்கனையும் ICF- இந்தியன் ரெயில்வே அதிகாரியும், எஸ்.ஆர்.எம். கல்வி நிறுவனத்தின் முன்னாள் மாணவியுமான செல்வி எழில்மதி சிறப்பு விருந்தினராகக் கலந்துகொண்டு மாணவர்களுக்குத் தன்னுடைய விளையாட்டு அனுபவங்களைச் சொல்லி ஊக்கமளித்துப் பாராட்டினார். இன்றைய சூழ்நிலையில் விளையாட்டு என்பது நம் உடல்மன ஆரோக்கியத்திற்கு எவ்வளவு முக்கியமானது என்பதையும், வாழ்வின் புகழ் வெற்றிக்கும் எவ்வளவு முக்கியமானது என்பதையும் தன் உரையின்போது கோடிட்டுக் காட்டினார். நிறைவாக, நாட்டுப்பண் பாட, விழா இனிதே நிறைவுற்றது.
