Hyderabad, September 5, 2025: SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) proudly announces the outstanding achievements of its badminton players, who emerged victorious at the Yonex Sunrise 79th South Zone Inter State Individual Badminton Championships 2025, held in Hyderabad from 3rd to 5th September 2025.
In the Men’s Singles Category, Rithvik Sanjeevi (II MBA) displayed remarkable skill and determination throughout the tournament.
· Quarter Finals: Defeated Hussain Sahil (Telangana) with a commanding score of 21-6, 21-7.
· Semifinals: Secured a hard-fought victory over Lokesh Reddy (Telangana) 20-22, 23-21, 21-16.
· Finals: Clinched the title by defeating K. Govind (Kerala) 21-12, 21-19.
In the Junior Under-19 Boys Singles Category, Sugi Sai Bala Sinha (I B.Com) showcased exceptional form to secure the championship title.
· Quarter Finals: Overcame Srikumar Dharmik (Kerala) 22-20, 21-12.
· Semifinals: Beat Maka OM (Karnataka) 21-16, 21-17.
· Finals: Dominated against Divyansh Hardik (Karnataka) with a convincing 21-10, 21-12 win.
