Chennai’s depth of talent, knowledge and capability must be matched by a stronger collective voice to tell the city’s story to the world, said entrepreneur, technology leader and philanthropist Mr. Arun Jain, Chairman and Managing Director, Intellect Design Arena, at the latest edition of Super Chennai Arattai. During the event, Mr. Arun Jain was felicitated as Super Chennai’s ‘Icon of the Month’ by Mr. Mehul H. Doshi, President, CREDAI Chennai, while he was also honoured as one of the ‘Champions of Chennai’ by Mr. Prakash Challa, Former President, CREDAI National, recognising his contributions to entrepreneurship, innovation and social impact.

In a wide-ranging conversation spanning entrepreneurship, innovation, artificial intelligence, leadership and social impact, Jain reflected on his own journey and the importance of building depth rather than trying to be everywhere. Drawing from his experience in financial technology and AI, he spoke about the importance of resilience, precision and sustained innovation, while noting that meaningful outcomes from technology require an understanding of knowledge, context and reasoning.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Arun Jain Chairman and Managing Director, Intellect Design Arena said, “Chennai is a learning city. Our humility allows us to keep learning, and that is one of our greatest strengths. But we also need to come together as a brand and find an authentic way to express our capabilities to the world. Marketing is a way of expressing what you are capable of, and Chennai has many possibilities and opportunities that deserve to be seen.”

He also spoke about his belief that imagination is not the prerogative of seniority, highlighting the need for organisations to create spaces where people at every level can participate in shaping the future. Reflecting on the next generation, he called for open and safe spaces where young people can discuss their doubts, fears and conflicts, emphasising that ethical thinking develops through dialogue and reflection.

His thoughts on social impact similarly focused on expanding possibilities rather than simply providing solutions. He spoke about helping communities recognise their strengths, encouraging young people to dream beyond their immediate circumstances and creating pathways for individuals to shape their own futures.

Mr. Ranjeeth Rathod, Managing Director, Super Chennai, said: “Super Chennai Arattai is about creating conversations that help Chennai understand itself through the people, ideas and experiences that shape the city. Mr.Arun Jain brought together entrepreneurship, technology, culture and social impact, while offering a powerful perspective on Chennai’s potential. His message reinforces the need for the city to recognise its strengths and find an authentic voice to tell its story to the world.”

The conversation reinforced the larger purpose of Super Chennai Arattai bringing diverse voices into conversations about the city and encouraging Chennaiites to participate in shaping its evolving identity. For Jain, the opportunity ahead lies in translating Chennai’s considerable depth and capabilities into a story that is authentic, confident and distinctly its own.
