LPG Cylinder Booking System Fails in Chennai

LPG Cylinder Booking System Fails in Chennai

Many residents in Chennai are facing problems while trying to book domestic LPG (cooking gas) refills. Gas agencies are not answering calls, and the IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System) used for booking cylinders is not working properly. As a result, people are lining up in large numbers at gas distributorships, hoping to get their refills

One resident from Washermenpet, shared his experience:

“I tried booking my cylinder through the IVRS, but it did not work. Since my gas agency was nearby, I went there in person. But they told me that no bookings would be taken today and asked me to come tomorrow. I hope my current cylinder lasts until then.”

The problem has caused long queues and frustration among households that rely on LPG for cooking. Many consumers are worried about running out of gas, especially as the booking systems remain unreliable.

Officials from gas agencies have said they are trying to resolve the issues, but no clear timeline has been provided. Meanwhile, residents continue to wait at distributorships or make repeated attempts to book through phone and online systems.

The situation highlights the need for better communication and system management to ensure that citizens can get timely LPG refills without unnecessary delays or inconvenience.
