Chola MS records a GWP of ₹2,130 Cr in Q1 FY26-27
Cholamandalam MS General Insurance Company Ltd. (Chola MS), a joint venture between the Murugappa Group and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group of Japan, today announced its financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, reporting a Gross Written Premium (GWP) of ₹2,130 Cr, as against ₹1,997 Cr in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, a growth of 6.7%.
Key Financial and Operational Highlights – Q1 FY26-27
- Profit Before Tax (PBT) for the quarter stood at ₹116 Cr compared to ₹145 Cr in Q1 FY26-27. Profit After Tax (PAT) was ₹86 Cr as against ₹107 Cr in the corresponding quarter last year.
- The Company's net worth increased to ₹3,415 Cr as on June 30, 2026 from ₹3,106 Cr a year ago.
- The company’s net worth rose to ₹3,415 Cr as of June 30, 2026 with the solvency ratio at 1.93 times (regulatory requirement of 1.5 times). The Company recorded a return on equity of 2.52% for the quarter (not annualized).
- Chola MS continued to strengthen its presence across India and generated business from 148,568 Gram Panchayats, reinforcing its commitment to financial inclusion and insurance penetration in rural India.
- During the quarter, Chola MS further expanded its service network to 18,000+ cashless garages and 13,900+ cashless hospitals, ensuring faster and seamless claim servicing for customers across the country.
- Chola MS continued to invest in technology and digital transformation initiatives aimed at enhancing customer experience, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening data-driven decision-making capabilities.
