Varun Arakattalai launched to create a sustainable future for the Underprivileged
Chennai, 28th June 2019: Radiance Realty Developers, one of the leading real estate developers in South India today announced Varun Arakattalai's official launch. Established in April 2019 and named after Mr. Varun Manian, Managing Director, Radiance Realty Developers Ltd, Varun Arakattalai intends to empower children, youth, women and underprivileged by supporting them in taking ownership of their path to the future. Varun Arakattalai will support the communities with all necessary material and monetary measure for their self-empowerment and development.
Varun Arakattalai, a Non- Profit entity of Radiance Realty Developers Ltd has been established to bring about a sustainable and positive change in the lives of underprivileged children, youth, women and communities. The foundation’s major goal is to create a community where passionate people thrive, excel and lead collaborative efforts to solve the community’s imperative challenges.
After conducting a detailed study of the needs, aspirations and challenges of the community, Varun Arakattalai chose the Patinampakkam community to instrument its initial welfare activities. Few of the challenges articulated by them were Lack of employment skills, financial resources and parental support. As its first step the foundation has used sports as an instrument to promote health, education and empowerment. For the youth in the area, sporting events including cricket, kabadi and football were organized to get them to thrive together. The matches between the local teams in Pattinambakkam representing different kuppams brought forth discussions around other social issues faced by the citizens of this area.
Varun Arakattalai has also laid its focus on the development of Ramakrishnapuram in Mylapore, where activities including the reconstruction of an incomplete temple,renovation of a 15-year-old dilapidated Chennai Corporation Gym and furnishing it with equipment worth over five lakh has been undertaken. The foundation is also constructing a Volleyball court adjacent to the gym building enabling kids to nourish their sport skills. Chennai Managaratchi Nadunilai School, a unit of Chennai Corporation in Ramakrishnapuram will receive study materials including black boards, school bags & other school supplies worth 2 lakhs from the foundation.
Launching the entity Mr. Varun Manian, MD, Radiance Realty, said “This foundation's goal is to bring about a sustainable change in the lives of the less privileged with an infrastructure that will hone their skills and prepare them for the competitive future. Using sport as an effective medium, we take the conversation of life to a larger audience. Engaging the community through games are our first few steps towards a meaningful cause. We have a larger roadmap framed for the development of this community and others in need in the future.”
