Habeeb beats Shabbir to win Title

Habeebur Rahman defeated Shabbir Dhankot (395-362), in the Finals of the Tamil Nadu State Ranking Tenpin Bowling Tournament which concluded at LetsBowl, Thoraipakkam, Chennai.

In the Finals played based on the cumulative pinfall of two games, Habeeb finished the first game with a lead of 15 pins over Shabbir (196-181). In Game 2, Habeeb continued the flow and followed it up with a good game and eventually scoring a double in the 10th frame to eclipse the three-time national champion. Habeeb eventually scored 199 in the second game as against Shabbir’s 181 thereby defeating Shabbir with a cumulative lead of 33 pins.

Earlier in the day, in the first Semi-Final played based on the cumulative pinfall of two games, Top seed Parthiban J succumbed to fourth seed Habeebur Rahman in the two-game knockout by a pinfall difference of 69 pins. Parthiban J stole the show throughout the tournament by finishing the 18 games qualifying scores at an average 214.6 (Pinfall 3863) and also took away the two special prizes of the tournament. In the second Semi-Final second seed Akramullah Baig played against third seed Shabbir Dhankot. Shabbir defeated Akram (548-426) with a mammoth lead of 122 pins and ensuring his spot in the Finals.

Tamil Film Producer Mr Suresh Kamatchi gave away the prizes for the Winners as Chief Guest for the prize distribution ceremony.
