Road safety drive-by school students

New Delhi, September 27, 2019: With an objective to create awareness about traffic rules and the need to follow them, students and faculty members of Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh joined hands with Delhi Traffic Police and carried out a road safety drive at Madhuban Chowk crossing during the peak traffic hours to reach out to the maximum motorists.

Four contingents positioned themselves at the zebra crossings with placards displaying messages on road safety. Banners highlighting the observance of traffic rules were also displayed at strategic points to draw the public attention.

Speaking on the same Ms. Alka Kapur Principal Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh said, “Delhi is witnessing an increasing number of accidents and causalities due to violation of traffic rules. As to make the public aware of traffic rules we have taken this strategic initiative. There are a few road safety tips that can be followed by everyone. Avoid the use of mobile phones while driving, wearing a seat belt, following traffic lights etc are some healthy practices which ensure safety to all.“

Students of Modern Public School also interacted with the passersby and the motorists and conveyed the need to adopt new road safety rules.

The drive was an eye-opener for the people around to see youth acting as facilitators of traffic regulation.
