Cinépolis India today released its 2025 popcorn consumption data, revealing that patrons purchased nearly 5 million popcorn tubs across its circuit last year. That translates to approximately 570 tubs sold every hour, or 10 tubs every minute. In volume terms, the cinema chain sold 12,000 tonnes of popcorn during the year.

To mark National Popcorn Day on January 19, 2026, Cinépolis will offer popcorn at ₹19 across all locations nationwide. The campaign extends with “Popcorn Happy Hour” from January 20 to January 31, featuring a Buy One Get One Free offer on popcorn.

“Popcorn is the official movie partner, and at Cinépolis, it is the sensory anchor of the cinema experience. With the ₹19 offer on National Popcorn Day and the extended Happy Hour, we are making it easier for audiences to add that to their visit, without compromising on quality. Our 2025 data also helps us understand what patrons are choosing, so we can keep improving the menu and the overall experience.”  said, Devang Sampat, Managing Director, Cinépolis India.

The ₹19 offer is valid on January 19 across all showtimes at Cinépolis locations, on select popcorn variants subject to availability. The Popcorn Happy Hour promotion runs January 20 to 31 at all Cinépolis locations.

The initiative is part of Cinépolis India’s FOOVIES framework, which positions food and beverage as integral to the cinema experience through curated offerings, value campaigns, and data-driven menu development.
