GHMC in collaboration with Synchrony organized Mega Prayaas drive - A clean city initiative outside Chest Hospital, ESI, Erragadda, Hyderabad.Mr. Ramesh Kambhampati, Chief Finance Officer India, Synchrony, Mr. T Venkat India Lead CSR Synchrony along with Ms. Harichandana IAS, Zonal Commissioner –West Zone GHMC and various volunteers participated in the drive to beautify the city. This also marked the 2nd anniversary of the Prayaas initiative which has been instrumental in cleaning the city. 

The activity “Prayaas” is not a symbolic one-time clean-up drive but aims to restore and retain the spot successfully for more than 90 days with the help of local community & GHMC. As a part of Mega Prayaas event volunteers from Synchrony along with the staff of GHMC fixed a 50-meter stretch outside Chest Hospital, ESI, Erragadda. Post the cleaning they also adorned the spot with paintings. More than 10 teams from Synchrony participated in the drive.The teams worked on a street art contest with the theme ‘people and pollution'. The contest was judged by Ms.Harichandana, Zonal Commissioner, Serilingampally and Mr. Ramesh Kambhampati, Chief Finance Officer India, Synchrony.

Prayaas is a unique initiative by GHMC & Synchrony to keep the city clean and improve hygiene in the neighborhood. The program is an attempt to find real solutions to permanently eliminate the open garbage dumps and ugly spaces in the city.   Over the last two years under  “Prayaas” the Synchrony team and GHMC staff have fixed 32 such spots.  The program has been only successful because of continuous support of GHMC and the work put in by more than 200 Synchrony Volunteers including people with disabilities.
