The Oterra Hotel, Bengaluru, a landmark of luxury in the city’s tech hub, has officially ascended to the pinnacle of environmental stewardship. The hotel had very recently been awarded the Platinum Rating—the highest certification—under the IGBC (Indian Green Building Council) Green Existing Buildings category with the highest rated green existing building in India for the year 2025 – 2026.
This prestigious recognition from the CII - Indian Green Building Council distinguishes The Oterra as a leader in future-ready, sustainable hospitality in India. The Platinum certification is rarely achieved, as it requires a rigorous overhaul of energy-efficiency, water conservation, waste management, ecofriendly commuting practices and industry innovation without compromising on the indoor environmental quality and well-being of occupants.
Beyond the Platinum certification, the hotel’s commitment to "Sustainable Luxury" has been recognized with two distinct national honors:
