STARTUP WALK TO BE HOSTED IN CHENNAI ON 14TH AND 15TH OF FEBRUARY
Chennai, 13th February, 2019: StartUp Walk, an initiative started by The StartUp Centre and supported by the State Bank of India, is an effort to bring together the technology ecosystem in Chennai and make it easily accessible, for those aspiring to be part of it. The fourth edition of the Start-Up walk will span for over two days and will be held on 14th and 15th February.
Start-up Walk will provide an opportunity for participants to meet the founders of various StartUp companies, witness their office spaces and get a behind-the-scenes look at the most innovative companies in Chennai and the research entities that are driving them.
Some of the companies that are participating in the city-wide open office event are SPI Cinemas, Orangescape, FlintoBox, NotionPress, InkMonk, etc. On the second day of the event, the participants will visit the Centre for Artificial Intelligence that has come up in IIT Madras followed by a visit to the student incubator at Anna University as well.
The participants comprises of
a) People who are looking to understand how start-ups work and to switch career path
b) People looking to start-up
c) People who have just started off and are having challenges and want to meet founders 1:1 to interact with them
Speaking about the event, Mr.Vijay Anand, Founder and CEO, The StartUp Centre said, “StartUp walk provides a platform to facilitate new opportunities in their career as it helps in engaging with professionals who share similar goals. 50% of the StartUps that were participating in the StartUp Walk last year have hired from people who visited their office during the event.
Most of the audience is in their mid-thirties and four to six years of work experience. There are a lot of people who work for the services sector who use this as an opportunity to evaluate moving over to SaaS. StartUp Walk was ideated as a way that will provide a platform for young StartUp enthusiasts to explore StartUps in their habitat. The event will enlighten them on the opportunities present in Chennai and help in attracting talent from other cities.”a
