Global investment institution Lighthouse Canton has partnered with Mission Smile to support a large-scale cleft lip and cleft palate surgery programme for children and young adults, reinforcing its commitment to expanding access to essential healthcare through its CSR platform, Spreading Smiles.

Delivered through two structured care models, the programme aims to complete 100 free corrective cleft surgeries before March 2026, ensuring comprehensive, end-to-end care for beneficiaries across two regions.

In Hyderabad, the initiative is being implemented through an outreach centre model at Unicorpus Word and Deed Hospital. Patient screening commenced on 9 February 2026, with surgeries beginning on 10 February 2026. Approximately 50 corrective surgeries are expected to be completed at this location.

In West Bengal, the programme extends to Krishnanagar through Mission Smile’s mission model at Hiramani Memorial Hospital, where an additional 50 cleft surgeries are planned.

Across both locations, surgeries will be performed by multidisciplinary medical teams spanning plastic surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, anaesthesiology, paediatrics, dentistry, and nursing, ensuring clinically rigorous and holistic care.

The programme is anchored under Lighthouse Canton’s Spreading Smiles CSR platform, which focuses on enabling access to critical healthcare through credible partnerships, structured delivery models, and measurable outcomes.

Commenting on the partnership, Charu Kunwar, Managing Director - Chief Human Resources Officer, Lighthouse Canton, said, “At Lighthouse Canton, we believe in growing alongside the communities we serve. Our partnership with Mission Smile reflects this commitment—delivering healthcare interventions that restore not just physical health, but confidence, dignity, and opportunity for children and young adults, creating shared prosperity that extends beyond financial returns.

As part of the Hyderabad programme, employees from Neovantage Innovation Parks, life sciences real estate parks, Hyderabad, managed by Lighthouse Canton Real Estate, interacted with beneficiaries and their families to review their progress, reinforcing Lighthouse Canton’s employee-led approach to social impact.

All patients supported under the initiative will receive comprehensive care at no cost, including transportation, accommodation, meals, medical examinations, surgery, medicines, and post-operative follow-up. Where required, additional support such as psychological counselling and nutritional guidance will also be provided.

Founded in 2002, Mission Smile is a registered medical charitable trust that has delivered free cleft care across India for over two decades. To date, the organisation has conducted medical evaluations for more than 76,000 patients and performed over 50,800 free cleft surgeries nationwide.

Unicorpus Word and Deed Hospital, Hyderabad, and Hiramani Memorial Hospital, Krishnanagar, are supporting the programme by providing clinical infrastructure and specialist medical expertise.
