Chennai: The police have arrested a man, who is said to be a naxalite, at Sriperumbudur. Sources said, the arrested has been identified as Surendra Yadav from Chhattisgarh and he was from his hideout in a secret operation.

Yadav fled his native after a major firing between the maoists and police last year. Since his escape, the Chattisgarh police have been searching for him and tracking his phone signals.

Based on inputs, the Q-Branch division took him into custody from his secret location in Sriperumbadur. It is said, Surendra has been living in Sriperumbadur for a year now. The Chattisgarh police will soon take him into custody.
