Chennai: A meeting of DMK's District Secretaries held here today discussed a host of issues, including local bodies elections expected soon. The meeting held at the party headquarters 'Anna Arivalayam' was chaired by DMK Working President M K Stalin.

"We conducted the District Secretaries meeting and various issues including contesting the coming local bodies elections were discussed", Stalin told reporters. The State Election Commission has recently informed Madras High Court that the local body elections would be completed by May 14.

The DMK meeting passed a resolution condoling the death of Pudukottai District party functionary K P K Thangavelu. Meanwhile, popular Tamil actor and former South Indian Artists' Association President Radharavi quit the AIADMK and joined the DMK. The actor, who had joined AIADMK in 2010 after being in DMK, said it was like 'home coming' for him.

"For the last few days, I have been informing (MLA) Sekhar Babu and (Actor and MLA) Vagai Chandrasekar that I would join DMK. Since tomorrow it is Thalapathi's (Stalin's) birthday, I thought of joining the party today itself. Today is also my mother's death anniversary", he told reporters.

"I feel like coming back to my home", he said.
