CBI Seeks 14-Day Remand of Karti Chidambaram
NEW DELHI: Karti Chidambaram reached Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Thursday, 1 March, in connection with the INX Media money laundering case. The arguments regarding the case between Additional Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta and Abhishek Manu Singhvi are underway.
Former finance minister P Chidambaram’s son, Karti, on Wednesday, 28 February, was arrested by the CBI at Chennai airport and produced before the Delhi court, which sent him to one-day police custody.
The CBI, however, has sought 14-day custody in its remand application.
If granted, Karti will be sent to custody for 13 days, as he has already spent one day in CBI’s remand.
