13,000+ donors stepped up for Green Trends’ Shair Hair Donation Drive
Chennai, 18thMarch, 2022: Green Trends’ Shair Hair Donation Drive witnessed a whopping 13,000 donors from all over India stepping up to donate locks of hair for underprivileged cancer survivors. The month-long hair donation cum awareness initiative is Green Trends salon’s annual CSR initiative which commenced on February 4th, World Cancer Day and extended till March 8th, Women’s day. The donors included popular celebrities Andrea Jeremiah, Aindrita Ray and Sreemukhi who came forward to donate a lock of their hair and set an example for their fans.
Commenting on the occasion, Mr. Deepak Praveen, COO- Green Trends Salon said, “We have received incredible response from the public for our hair donation drive. We can attribute the success of Shair to the unique ‘Shaircut’ developed by the Green Trends’ R&D team which ensures no visible change in the donors’ current hairstyle. A donor can donate as little or as much as they want, only requirement is hair should be 10 inches long. Thanks to the Shaircut, it allows more donors to participate and be included in the cause. We are grateful for each of our donors, who not only donated but also helped spread awareness for the cause on social media. We would also like to thank our partners such as colleges and corporates who facilitated us to conduct hair donation camps and made this herculean number possible. Shair hair donation drive was launched in February 2020 with a mission to give cancer survivors emotional support and boost confidence. A small gesture from the brand, has now grown into a bigger achievement with the distribution of wigs. The CSR initiative has been India’s largest hair donation drive with over 25,000 donors, 100+ hair donation camps conducted and 600+ wigs handed over till date .
