‘திரௌபதி’ திரைப்படத்தின் மூலம் கவனம் ஈர்த்த இயக்குநர் மோகன் ஜி, தற்போது மிகப் பெரும் வரலாற்றுக் காவியமான ‘திரௌபதி 2’ உடன் மீண்டும் திரையரங்குகளுக்கு வருகிறார். துணிச்சலான கதை சொல்லல் மற்றும் வரலாற்று நுணுக்கங்களில் மிகுந்த கவனம் செலுத்தும் இயக்குநராக அறியப்படும் மோகன் ஜி, 14ஆம் நூற்றாண்டைச் சேர்ந்த ஹோய்சால பேரரச வம்சத்தின் மகத்துவத்தை மீண்டும் உயிர்ப்பிக்க தமிழ் சினிமாவின் சிறந்த கலைஞர்களை ஒருங்கிணைத்துள்ளார். ஜனவரி 23 அன்று திரையரங்குகளில் வெளியாகவுள்ள ‘திரௌபதி 2’ திரைப்படம் ரசிகர்களுக்கு மறக்க முடியாத அனுபவமாகவும், தமிழ்நாட்டின் செழுமையான ஆனால் மறைக்கப்பட்ட பாரம்பரியத்தை வெளிச்சம் போட்டு காட்டும் ஒரு வரலாற்று சினிமா ஆவணமாகவும் இருக்கும் என இயக்குநர் மோகன் ஜி தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
