Theri Movie Review
Ilayathalapathy Vijay-Director Atlee's recent flick "Theri" hit the screens on April 14th. With the record breaking views for its teaser and trailer the movie created huge buzz among the audience. Here is the complete review...
A wafer-thin story with an even weaker screenplay made with a mix of many old scenes is what Theri movie is all about. It is just Vijay's acting prowess and charisma that carries the movie throughout.
Absolutely nothing special about the movie itself. The humour portions and a couple of Mass Scenes tailormade for Vijay are enjoyable. The so called sentimental scenes sounded a bit overdone and forced for the sole purpose of catering to family audience.
Songs - Frankly, didnt like them except for Jithu Jilladi because it was picturised pretty well. BGM was a lot better and met Vijay’s mass scenes’ standards.
George C Williams great work with his cinematography... Lots and lots of loopholes and lack of logic which we usually wouldn't expect in such a mass film, but to some extent if it wasn't there, would have been highly appreciated.
This movie will probably satisfy Vijay’s fans to a good extent but I strongly believe, editing the movie by atleast 20 mins in the second half, will help the movie travel much faster.
Baby Nainika, an absolute cutie-pie and proves she can act well. Mahendran sir as antagonist liked his screen presence and his voice was superb.
Mottai Rajendran was a scream and certain portions and job well done. Samantha, neat performance and one of her better ones. Amy Jackson had nothin much to do.
If not for Vijay’s humor, romance, action and firing screen presence which was “Theri”fic, it would have been difficult to sit through this movie. He was an absolute class and mass star at his full potential.
On a general note, Movie will be paisa vasool, being an Entertainer with VIJAY as its CORE STRENGTH.
