Duniya Vijay, 3 other crew members barred from film
Still reeling under the shock of the deaths of two actors in an ill-fated stunt at Thippagondanahalli (TG) reservoir on the sets of Masti Gudi, the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) on Wednesday barred the protagonist of the movie `Duniya' Vijay, director Nagashekar, stunt director Ravi Varma and producer Sundar P Gowda from participating in any form of film activities for the time being.
The move, which effectively amounts to a ban, comes even as the search operation continues for the body of one actor.
KFCC president, Sa Ra Govindu said that he would hold a meeting with the crew of the film soon to learn the details of the mishap at TG Halli. Affirming that the film's stunt master ought to have taken effective precautionary measures, KFCC members vowed to take action against those found guilty .
Actor Vijay said that he would abide by the decision of the chamber. "I will attend the meeting called by KFCC. Regardless of who the actor or director is, they should abide by the rules of the chamber," he said.
Home minister G Parameshwara, who paid a visit to the spot, interacted with the cops, doctors and the families of the deceased actors. The minister expressed dismay at the lack of precautionary measures that were taken by the film director and stunt master. "I am told that no precautionary measures were followed.
Both Uday and Anil told TV reports that they didn't know swimming. We will initiate legal action against the offenders, and the statements of the two actors will be treated as evidence," he said.
